Maribel Vidal-Quadras
has a very international background. Her art education covers a broad
range from fashion to working with textiles, to painting and paper
making, to sculpture and etching.
Her
art education/training has taken her from Barcelona to the USA where
she lived seven years in California and New York City. She received
her BFA in Painting with Highest Honors from Pratt Institute in NYC
where she was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship during the 1983-84 academic
year. She is certified as an Official Art Guide by the Generalitat
de Catalunya for the city of Barcelona and Catalunya.
Her
professional experience is an impressive part of her credentials.
Since 1987 she has taught a range of art-related subjects, such as
textiles, drawing, painting, contemporary art seminars and art history.
Some of her roles include Professor at the prestigious Art & Design
School EINA in Barcelona; proponent of the proposal for Barcelona´s
urban furniture redevelopment for the Olympic Games from 1990-92;
as well as assistant to the Art Sociology class at the University
of Barcelona from 1996-2006.
She
has exhibited her art work in Barcelona, at the ARCO International
Fair in Madrid, in New York, Canada, Mexico, Colombia, Germany and
Poland.
Maribel is fluent in Spanish, English, French and Catalan. She has
traveled all around Catalunya and Spain, as well as Europe, North
America, South America, China and India.
